Hi Jap fans. Well the season’s finally over for the Jap Racer series run in its present format. Congratulations to both Steve Guirey and Paul Jones at winning their respective categories and commiserations to the series runners up; Dean Buxton and Scott Whitelaw for their second place positions in the Unlimited and Front Wheel Drive classes respectively. Here is the top five positions for each of the two categories:

UNLIMITED
1. Steve Guirey (Subaru Type R14) 2410 pts
2. Dean Buxton (Nissan Skyline R32 GTR) 2035
3. Team Tomlinson & Farrer (Nissan Skyline R32 GTR) 1995
4. Hugh Keir (Nissan Skyline) 600
5. Darren Lawrence (Subaru Impreza) 550

FRONT WHEEL DRIVE
1. Paul Jones (Honda Civic Type R) 2920 pts
2. Scott Whitelaw (Honda Civic Type R) 1745
3. Guy Chamberlain (Honda Civic Type R) 1685
4. Adam Buckley (Honda Civic Type R) 600
5. Liza Wood (Honda Civic VTi) 200

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thanks to our supporters: Garth Wong of MGT Racing, the guys at Japanese Performance Magazine, and Motorshack & VP Racing’s Steve Wood. Thanks guys. So, the winters here, but there’s lots to look forward too and with the first round of the Pro Street Drag Series just 23 weeks away, that’s 172 days to get that car rolling and onto the track. See you in 2008.

This is interesting.
If all the drivers in the Jap Racer series this year entered the Pro Street Drag Series and assuming that these times are representative we would have the following:
Pro class - no cars!
9.3 - 10.3 - 3 cars
10.3 - 11.3 - 3 cars (all FWD)
11.3 - 12.3 - 7 cars
12.3 - 13.3 - 11 cars plus 24 running slower than 13.3
