IT IS A REQUIREMENT OF THE RACEWAY
THAT YOU READ THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC TRACK DAY

Scrutineering:

Scrutineering will be undertaken by Shakespeare County Raceway staff to ensure the
basic safety of cars and motorcycles wishing to take part in the Public Track Day Test & Tune. Any
queries on what is acceptable should be addressed to the SCR staff. As part of scrutineering all cars
will be given a prefix letter and number for Timing and Race Control staff. At signing-on all drivers will
be required to fill in an event registration form, to provide car/driver details for commentary purposes.
Scrutineering will be conducted in the drag strip assembly area. All vehicles will be scrutineered.

General item checklist:

1 Under bonnet – engine must be free from oil leaks. Must be a complete bulkhead between
the engine and driver.
2 Fuel – fuel pipes sound and secure.
3 Battery - must be properly secured, ensure live terminal isn’t exposed for danger of shorting
on the bonnet etc.
4 Cooling system – ensure it is intact and free from leaks, and must have a catch can.
5 Throttle return – ensure it returns ok and closes fully.
6 Doors - must be able to open from outside.
7 Inside the car - steering wheel secure, does the brake pedal feel ok?
8 Seats – ensure the seats secured properly, condition, operation and fixture of the seat
belts?
9 No loose items - ensure no loose items of equipment inside the car: fuel cans, jacks,
crooklocks, wheelbraces, fire extinguishers, nitrous cylinders, no sharp dangerous edges
etc.
10 Boot/Hatchback - in the boot/hatchback, same as above re secure, batteries, fuel tanks,
nitrous bottles etc.
11 Wheels – ensure wheels are secure, tyres free from visual defects, all wheel nuts fitted?
11 Windows - We don't like heavily tinted glass where the starter/safety crews can’t see the
driver etc.
11 General appearance - vehicle free from Mud under the wheel arches, and does it look if it is
going to fall to bits!
11 Keep your speed down - to 10 mph in the Pits, Staging Lanes and the Return Roads. The
Drag Strip is the only area of the raceway for the NEED TO SPEED!
11 Any non conventional vehicle i.e.: rocket/jet powered must produce there own Risk
Assessment & Operating Procedures, and give the raceway due notice of its appearance.

Signing On:

Once a car or motorcycle has been successfully scrutineered, all drivers must sign on.
This will involve payment of the appropriate track fee (£20.00 per day/£35.00 weekend for unlimited
runs), signing the required track indemnity forms and handing in of a completed event registration form.

Helmets:

Helmets are recommended but will required to be worn by all drivers of cars capable of
running 11.00 second elapsed times or better, or quarter mile speeds of over 100 mph.

Helmets will not be available for hire so it is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that they provide their own.
Shakespeare County Raceway recommends you take a helmet even if your car is running
slower than 11.00 second/100 mph quarter miles. They are concerned for your safety.
Track Access: At all times when the track is open for sessions (10.00am – 6.00pm Sat & 11.00am –
5.00pm Sun) drivers/riders should access the track through the Staging Lane area. Please follow all
instructions by the track staff from Shakespeare County Raceway who will direct you to the Staging Lanes, and through the start procedure.

Times:

SCR staff will announce across the PA system Times and Speeds throughout the day/weekend.

General notes:

1 Shakespeare County Raceway recommends you wear a helmet for drag racing
2 Bring your drivers licence for sign on (MOT & Insurance documents may be asked for)
3 Wear clothing that covers your arms and legs
4 Windows must be closed when racing
5 Seat Belts must be worn
6 Regarding intercooler spray bars. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE not if you are drag racing!
Shakespeare County Raceway cannot afford any fluids on the track surface.
As you probably know, the track is treated for traction. The slightest moisture turns it into a skating rink! Even if
you use the spray bar in the fire up road, there will still be drips when you get to the line. This
means a clean up that eats into valuable racing time. The track policy is perfectly clear on
this, any car dropping fluids will NOT be allowed to race!
7 Shakespeare County Raceway reserves the right to define additional rules governing the
running of the event and will advise all registered entrants accordingly. Track managements
decision is final in any situation or dispute.

WARNING! MOTORSPORT CAN BE DANGEROUS. DESPITE THE
ORGANISERS TAKING ALL REASONABLE PRECAUTIONS,
UNAVOIDABLE ACCIDENTS CAN HAPPEN, IN RESPECT OF
THESE, YOU ARE PRESENT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
DOGS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON SITE

It is a condition of admission that all persons having any connection with the promotion and
/or organisation and / or conduct of the meeting, including the owners of the land and the
drivers and owners of vehicles and passengers in the vehicles, are absolved from any liability
arising out of accidents causing damage or personal injury (whether fatal or otherwise)
however caused to spectators or ticket holders.

cool..

if it any help, I spoke to them about documents...

they will want to see your driving licence (must be the original)

and they may ask to see insurance and mot certificates, these
can be photo copy's.
so you dont need to take the originals..
