Was talking to one of the scrutineers and he was saying that noise restictions will be in force next year for road cars.Anybody else heard about this.He did mention a figure which was quite loud and I could probably pass with my exhaust bungs in.probably not with them removed(107bd at tick over).Test is from 3ft at 45deg from memory.Cheers.

As far as I'm aware noise ristrcitions will only be coming into play for MSA classes at UK National Drag Races at Shakespeare County and Santa Pod raceway's. The trouble is that if measures are not put in place or that the tracks are seen to be pro-active in counter-acting on noise then the local councils and authorities could serve notice and close the tracks for good or until limitations have been put in place.

Look what happen to Daz's local track at Smetharpe Airfield. I belive that there is a stay of execution until 2011 but we must be seen to be pro-active or loose it. There are speciality exhaust systems out there which won't harm bhp. In fact in some cases its increased performance but without to much noise being immitted. Countries in Scandinavia went through a similar thing years ago with unsilenced dragsters and street cars now having to run with silencers. Now they are enjoying life to the max with more tracks being opened up for guys like you to race at. So don't think that its the British nanny state taking over again because it not. It happens all over the world in Australia, South Africa and even some tracks in America just to stay open. So lets all be pro-active about this...

I don't think we have too much to worry about, I can hardly hear my own car ticking over in the firing lane amongst a few yanks. Let alone a top fueller!
